How to Choose The Right Wedding Dress for You! Your Wedding Dress is the defining piece that sets the tone for your whole day! It's the standard around which all wedding plans revolve. I love watching the TLC show "Say Yes to The Dress" where Brides and their families walk into Kleinfeld Bridal and get some serious Expert Help on choosing the Perfect Wedding Dress! I've found some useful information and I thought I'd share it with you. Here are some things to consider when choosing your wedding dress. COLOR: One of the first things you will want to think about when choosing a Wedding Dress is the color of the dress. Some brides are going with a touch of color on their dress that matches their wedding colors now days. You may decide to do this, it looks very elegant and brings together the look of the wedding. Sometimes brides choose not to wear white it they are not pure on their wedding day. Some brides choose to wear an off white dress simply because they find a style of dress that they really like in that color.
SHAPE: Thinking about the shape of your body, you may want to wear a dress that is form fitting, if you want to show off your figure. These dresses are very sexy and make the bride feel sexy as well. If you have larger hips you could go with a dress that is fuller at the bottom. Depending on how much skin you would like to show, you may also want to consider a dress that has a cut out back or a slit up the leg. You want to feel sexy on your wedding day and feel confident as well. There will be many eyes on you, so wear a dress that makes you feel sexy and confident.
STYLE: You need to decide if you are a fancy, flashy bride or a simple, elegant bride. You could get a dress with a lot of sequence and flair if you like the flashy style. You could get a very simple dress, with to ruffles or sequence if you like to keep it simple. Put some thought into the styling that you prefer before you head out to find your perfect dress. Here are some ideas for style: - Traditional - made of satin and lace with full veil and accessories. A traditional costume is always in white and with a long train. The advantage of this is that it is always a safe bet being guaranteed to appeal to everyone but a full traditional wedding dress is heavy, prone to staining, expensive and, with a long train to drag in the mire, very difficult to keep clean during the day. Once worn, it will be consigned to a box in the attic or a very fun, interesting Trash The Dress session!
- Designer - A modern style which may be short, revealing or striking. A designer wedding dress may not even be in white and may consist of a combination of fabrics and colours. Its main advantage is that it allows the bride to fully express her own taste and also that a well-chosen Designer Dress will not get as dirty or hot as a traditional gown.
WEATHER: If you are getting married on a hot summer day, you will want to consider that and wear a dress that is strapless or has skinny straps, to stay as cool as possible. If you are getting married on a cooler day in the spring or fall, you could wear a dress with a sleeve to stay warm enough. If you are getting married in the winter, you will probably want a dress with a long sleeve and even a winter shaw to go over the dress when you go outside to keep your arms warm Remember that it is you that matters, not the wedding dress. Don't get too hung up on whether you'll get it dirty or not. If the pictures show how much fun you had on your wedding day, no amount of dirt will drag you down! Ask Patty a Question
